Wheel-throwing Pottery Class Sessions The next session begins on March 19.
The eight-week wheel-throwing pottery class is open to ages 12 and up. Classes are limited so that each student has his or her own wheel which is a definite advantage in skill development.
 
A class for teens: An 8-week session of wheel-throwing pottery geared toward teens will be offered after school to 6 p.m. (with arrivals any time after 3:00 p.m.). Class fee is $30 (with the rest of the cost covered through the scholarship fund). Includes clay, glazes, firings, instruction, and use of studio tools. 
 
Evening class: from 6 to 9 p.m. Class fee of $249 includes clay, glazes, firings and use of studio tools in addition to instruction.
 
Susan Ramey of Ridgetop Pottery has been teaching pottery classes in the Riverbend Studio since it opened in 2011. She will continue teaching wheel-throwing on Wednesdays starting on March 20. Arts Preston is happy to introduce Keith Koury of Appalachian Clay Works as another pottery instructor. Keith will teach on Tuesdays starting on March 19.
