Chamber to host State of the County Address
Kingwood, W.Va., - May 20, 2021 – Mark your calendar! The Preston County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its inaugural “State of the County” on June 10, 2021, and it will be an evening you will not want to miss.
The event is open to the public and free of charge. Held at the KVFD Community Building, the night begins at 5pm with a Business After Hours mixer - hors d'oeuvres and light refreshments will be provided, and a cash bar will be available.
Beginning promptly at 6pm, the “State of the County” will feature concise 5-minute briefs from numerous speakers representing the following sectors of our county’s current climate: Education, Infrastructure, Tourism, Health & Safety, Economic Development and Agriculture. Those in attendance will have an opportunity to ask questions. Facilitation will be led by Preston News & Journal Editor Joe Hauger.
This fast-paced event will offer attendees updates on hot topic items including the continuing education programs, road legislation, broadband, tourism, Ascend WV, Preston Memorial Hospital growth, the county’s drug epidemic, EDA updates, real estate overview, and a County Commission update.
The Preston County Chamber of Commerce is proud to organize this inaugural “State of the County” as an effort to encourage an invigorated sense of collaboration in our community so we can all see it grow and improve.
