Effective leadership is fundamental to success. Plan to attend the Pathway to Leadership series as the Preston County Chamber of Commerce partners with McMillion Leadership Associates for a dynamic five-part seminar with modules to teach you valuable skills for your success. Each session will have leadership exercises to help you develop both personally and professionally.  Turn theory into practice, create opportunities, and develop skills that will last far beyond this seminar.

October 4-Purpose & Priorities.  A clearly understood purpose makes work meaningful and fuels motivation.  When a leader provides priorities with clarity, employees are able to work more efficiently and better serve the organization.  Purpose gives work direction.  Priorities give it focus.

October 11-Emotional Intelligence.  Like them or hate them, emotions are part of our life every single day.  Sometimes we feel on top of the world and one bad encounter brings us crashing down.  Other days, we're trapped in a black cloud when someone brings us a rainbow.  Sometimes these things are happenstance, but they don't have to be.  These are not a random occurrence.  Great leaders can consciously create this environment.

October 25-Customer Service.  Great customer service comes from anticipation, communication, and strong emotional intelligence.  We'll talk about dealing with difficult situations; unhappy people; and resolving conflicts plus setting and managing expectations.

November 1-Supervision.  Learn how to set workplace standards, encourage people to meet them, and what to do when they don’t.  Good supervision enables the organization to get the most done with the most efficient use of resources.

November 8-Meetings That Matter.  Why do meetings matter?  Meetings are important because they enable employees to come together and get collaborative work done.
