In this relaxing and playful 90-minute workshop, students will learn how to make their own pigment from soft river rocks, then use it like watercolor paint to create experimental artwork, led by Elkins-based multi-media artist Nevada Tribble. Students will be encouraged to explore their creativity by trying different mark-making techniques and playing with their homemade paint. The majority of the workshop will be open-ended art-making time. For students who want more direction, Nevada will lead an optional demonstration of line-drawing techniques to draw a rock from observation. This class is great for beginners and is open to ages 13 and up! Tickets are $25 for AHI members, $30 for nonmembers.
