Are you interested in using creativity and the arts to elevate your hometown, build community, and catalyze social and economic change? If you see bigger possibilities for your community, please join us for a very special and transformative program on May 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Preston Community Arts Center, 123 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV. The program is called “Create West Virginia”. It’s a way to start or expedite a community’s journey to revitalizing and redefining itself and seeing the world in a different way.
Hosted by Preston Community Arts Center, Main Street Kingwood, Preston County Chamber of Commerce, and Brew Ha Ha, the Create Your State tour is a multimedia performance and workshop that inspires and empowers creative community transformation. It provides a full program of immersive experiential learning for leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, students and other involved citizens. Social entrepreneurs from Princeton, WV will tell their personal story of how the arts are reigniting their once abandoned downtown with creative capital, reclaiming it as an arts district that is increasingly drawing new business and tourism. You will gain skills, tools, and on-the-ground contacts to spark positive change and cultivate a similar scene in your town, and you will be invited to take advantage of ongoing support—resources, contacts, mentorship—after the workshop as you carry out your arts-based community development projects.
